Jane Manus

Jane Manus is an American abstract sculptor whose works display bold and solid geometric compositions. Her distinct style of minimal forms pairs well with bold and strong colors used. Her sculptural compositions have strengths in her use of dynamic edges and as well as negative space. Manus’ works are all exclusively metal (first working with steel and now transitioned to aluminum) as she states she enjoys “its permanence, and because you can see immediate results.”

Manus was born in 1951 in New York, she received her BFA from Rollins College and the Art Institute of Boston. She went on to have several solo and group exhibitions reaching many different parts of the world. She as well is included in many reputable collections, ones such as Lincoln Center/List Collection, New York, NY; the Georgia Museum of Art, Athens, GA; the Sagamore Collection, Miami Beach, FL; the Cornell Fine Arts Museum, Winter Park, FL; the Lowe Art Museum, Coral Gables, FL; and the Flint Institute of Art, Flint, Michigan and Harn Museum of Art, Gainesville, FL. Manus currently lives and works out of Florida.
