Matt Rosenbaum
Matthew Rosenbaum is a Brooklyn based painter, photographer and filmmaker investigating themes of genealogical memory and trauma through a surreal, tragicomic lens. In 2024 his painting Under The Blue Moon was recipient of the Arthur Harris Award for painting at the Woodstock Artists Association and Museum. In 2025 he was a finalist for the 13th Biennial Alexander Rutsch Award.
On the filmmaking side his directorial debut The Damning of a Country Merchant starring Peter Sarsgaard (Boys Don't Cry, The Batman) and Mackenzie Davis (Station 11, Terminator: Dark Fate) is in development with Anonymous Content. His other projects in development include the original series Tongue of Opal, a mischievous tale about a grifter in depression-era New York and Badstar, a coming-of-age drama set in 2002 Central Florida. In 2024 Matt directed a music video entitled Funny Man for the critically acclaimed OKC noise rock outfit Chat Pile. For his film work, Matt is represented by CAA.
