Pamela Berkley

Pamela Berkley is an American painter that has held the passion for her all her life. It was her environment and the encouragement from the people who surrounded her that helped her live her artistic journey.  As a teenager she enrolled in drawing classes at the Art Students League and the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan. She became a widow at 22 and that motivated her to begin taking her paintings and drawings seriously and went on to receive her BFA in painting and printmaking from the Rhode Island School of Design. She went on to have many successes such as her first solo show, traveling and group shows and she became very involved and intimate within the local art community. She also faced struggles such as suffering from a dog attack, having micro surgery, and having to move away from painting smaller scales because of the mobility of her wrist. Additional struggles include having to move away from NYC after the trauma left on the city from 9/11, and the gallery closing due to the stock market crash.

Today, she exhibits at the Blue Mountain Gallery in NYC with a group of her friends. This is where most of her time lies nowadays, sometimes also working commissions. Her last solo exhibition was in 2023 titled From The Hollow, at Marblehead Arts Association in Marblehead, MA. A list of her public collections include; Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago IL;  Adams State University, Alamosa, CO; Chase Manhattan Collection, New York; Colby Museum of Art, Waterville, ME; Jesse Besser Museum, Alpena, MI; Merrill Lynch, New York, NY; Mobile Museum of Art, Mobile, AL; Rhode Island School of Design Museum, Providence, RI; Rockefeller Foundation Collection, New York, NY.
